Can AI Replace What I Do today?

I asked myself a question that made me deeply uncomfortable.
The question I wasn't sure I wanted to answer
Instead of wondering whether AI could threaten the way I currently work and support my clients, I went and found out if it could.
Not the AI tools part. Not the AI execution part. The part of how I work and help my clients. Where I sit with a founder, listen beyond the words they're using, and pull out the story that is the foundation of their business and the blueprint of their brand. The part where I see what they can't yet, because it is what I've spent 30 years training myself for in advertising, design, and strategy. I've learned from and worked with Fortune 500 companies and solo founders alike, building brands from the inside out. Pattern recognition is how I think. Deep listening is how I work. And the relationships I build with my clients are the foundation of everything I create for them.
What happened when I leaned in? I'll tell you!
I had the privilege of working with Heidi Araya, Chief AI Consultant at Bright Logic, whose expertise in AI and process improvement is genuinely extraordinary. I brought her this exact question, and together we spent months trying to understand what it would mean for me.
Heidi brought 20 years of experience in process improvement and AI. I brought 30 years of creative and strategic thinking. We started listening to today's challenges of business owners and entrepreneurs (Heidi and myself included), their dreams, hopes, and fears. We listened, learned, tested, and built. Pushing limits, tapping into our combined 50 years of learning. We created custom AI tools and asked them to do what I do: to learn my deep listening process, to read between the lines the way I do, to understand what each business truly stands for and translate that into something the world could feel.
Here's what we discovered: Some of it worked. Most of it didn't. AI isn't there yet.
The way we listen, see, and think is unique to each of us. It's my 30 years of learning, my pattern recognition. The way I capture it, frame it, process it, connect the dots, ask myself questions, the way my brain works.
But, and this is the part that changed everything, when you tap into this human foundation first (training it on your thinking, your voice, your Q&As) and add some of your secret AI sauce, this custom-trained AI becomes something extraordinary.
What human first, AI second actually means to me
It's a custom sequence we build, unique to you, and it all starts with the core foundational work.
Not a tagline, a logo, or an image. It's about the most human thing in your business: your story, your point of view, your reason for existing. It's what makes every piece of content land and every connection feel real.
AI cannot build that for you. But once you have it trained?
AI amplifies YOU and YOUR BUSINESS, doing in hours what used to take weeks.
What Heidi and I built together is a human-first, AI-second workflow that helps my clients:
Find clarity faster, no more circling the same conversations
Create content that finally sounds, feels, and looks like them
Build a custom brand tool that knows their business inside and out
Show up with a confidence that people actually feel
That's not AI replacing your work. It's AI honouring it, and supporting you!
What this looks like in practice
One client came to us knowing their current marketing felt off but unable to solve it. They were too close to it. We started with deep listening: asking the right questions, keeping score, discovering patterns, and seeing the gaps we needed to close. They had clearly outgrown their brand, valuable work was being left behind, and new business opportunities were slipping away.
Now, with the help of the custom AI system we built, every touchpoint reflects who they have become. Having this foundation and AI support gives them the freedom to be unapologetic, and to grow their business and revenue.
AI didn't create the breakthrough. The human thinking did. AI just became the perfect assistant, helping them go further, faster. Work smarter, not harder.
To anyone standing where I stood months ago
I want to say this:
Stay true to who you are. Do what drives you. Stay curious. Discover where AI fits in your world.
Not replacing what you do. Not competing with it. Fitting into it.
Because when you find that fit, you feel empowered. And your clients feel it too.
The possibilities on the other side are better than you think.
Ready to find out what's possible for you?
I work with business owners who have outgrown their brand, might feel a little lost, and are ready to realign their business, getting clear on who they are, what they stand for, and how to show up in a way that finally feels like them again.
If that sounds like where you are right now, let's talk.
